149.5 pounds of medicine collected at the Sylvania Township Police Department during the October 2013 Drug Take Back Day.

If you missed the opportunity to drop off your medications at our April  Drug Take Back Day, make plans to participate in our Fall 2017 Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 28th at the Sylvania City and Township Police Departments and at  additional sites throughout Lucas County. This county-wide effort is made possible with support from Mental Health & Recovery Services of Lucas County and the Lucas County Commissioners. And –  don’t forgetthe permanent Med Return boxes purchased by SCAT are available at the Sylvania City and Township Police Departments 24 hours a day/7 days a week for disposal of prescription and over-the-counter medicines.


A national celebration of the choice to be alcohol, tobacco and drug-free. Our schools and community are blanketed with red ribbons as a visible reminder of this important decision. The “Walk of Light” event on Wednesday, October 18th  kicks off Red Ribbon Week from October 23 – 31. Parents, children and the Sylvania community gather to pledge to be alcohol, tobacco and drug-free.

Our 7th Annual Golf Scramble was our biggest ever with 14 teams competing for Danberry 2017 golf photobragging rights and fantastic raffle prizes. Our golfers, donors, and hole sponsors helped us raise funds for our youth alcohol and drug prevention programs.

Get Your Chocolate On! for our 3rd Annual Hot Cocoa 5K Run/1 Mile Walk



Bust out the long johns, lace up your sneaks and run or walk with Sylvania Community Action Team on February 17th at Olander Park, 6930 W. Sylvania Avenue in Sylvania.  Race Day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race at 9 a.m. If slow and easy is more your style, enjoy an invigorating 1-mile walk through the park. Then get your chocolate on with piping hot cocoa and light snacks.
