The Walk of Light 2017 kicks off Red Ribbon Week, an annual event to show no tolerance for drugs in schools, work places and the community. The Red Ribbon symbolizes a commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The Walk of Light, attended last year by over 550 adults and youth, begins at 7 pm and culminates at 7:50 pm with a pledge by students to remain drug free and by parents to support their child’s efforts. Participants will then join together and circle the track with their flashlights to symbolize their commitment to shine a light on the problem of drug and alcohol abuse by youth.
Bring your flashlight and dress appropriately (the event will be held in the gym if raining). The event is free and open to the public and cider and donuts will be provided.
