Social media, peer pressure, parties, drug trends and underage drinking…it’s not easy raising teens in today’s culture!
Operation: PARENT’s Parenting 101 Class is the perfect way to raise your awareness regarding today’s teen and pre-teen culture.
Each of the sessions will begin with a video, followed by an open discussion led by a trained facilitator. And you can attend either of the two sessions that day: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. November’s session “Remember the Difference” discusses how a teen is different from both a child and a adult, with a foot in both worlds. This calls for new strategies geared to teens and not to children or adults.
You’ll leave with practical strategies for raising great kids and understand that you are not alone while navigating the teen and pre-teen years. Parents will be well equipped to prevent and intervene while having a network of parents to support them through the process. Everyone attending will leave with the Parenting 101 Class Workbook and CD.
Free and open to the public.
